ALWAYS STAY FRESH - How to store food properly in the fridge!
Longer shelf life & correct storage
If you sort your food into the fridge according to certain criteria, you can significantly increase its shelf life. However, this does not apply without restriction, as some foods should never be stored in the fridge. In addition to citrus fruits, these include tomatoes, strawberries and bananas. It is better to keep these products in a decorative fruit basket in your kitchen, as storing them in the fridge will damage their aroma.
Ideal storage in the refrigerator
Storing packaged food in the correct temperature zone increases its shelf life and prevents loss of aroma. There are several zones in your refrigerator with different temperatures, so you should store food systematically. The compartments in the fridge door are among the warmest areas at around 8 degrees Celsius and are suitable for storing drinks bottles, opened milk cartons or other containers (mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.). Butter and eggs can also be stored here, and most refrigerators from the Varia kitchen studio even have special compartments for these foods.
