Quartz is one of the hardest basic materials after diamond. By combining it with special resin, colorants and pieces of glass, quartz composite is created - a material with high mechanical resistance. It is extremely resistant to stains and has a non-porous surface that does not absorb moisture. As the material always has to be polished, it is available in a glossy or matt finish.
Pros and cons:
Quartz composite offers great flexibility in terms of color design. Iridescent elements can be added as well as uniform shades, such as pure white. The material is also easy to clean and hygienic, as soiling can be easily removed.
However, if the worktop needs to withstand high heat, quartz composite reaches its limits. Hot pots should therefore always be placed on a trivet.
